Wedding Day | Bridal Party Portraits

So you’re all dolled up, you’ve finally seen your man, and now it’s time for a little fun with your besties!  Gosh, aren’t wedding days the best?!  Bridal party portraits don’t have to take a TON of time if we’re organized and ready to roll.  The goal is to take a few editorial shots, a few candid, and a few just for fun!

We’ll start with the ladies.

1. Make sure you have your bouquets ready and that the tips are DRY!!  Often the florist delivers the bouquets in their vases and no one remembers to dry the bottoms before running out the door with them.  You paid good money for that dress!  Keep those flower water spots away!

2.  We’ll grab a quick picture of you with each bridesmaid!

3.  Just relax and be your smiling selves!  The most natural moments tend to be the best!

Then we move to the men.

1.  It’s okay to think outside the box for classy but gentlemen-ly images! Check out this blog post for a peak into some of my all-time favorite Groom pictures (including the guys getting ready in a bar!).

2.  You don’t have to smile for the detail shots (easiest pose all day!).

3.  Again, relax and let’s make this a memorable experience!

All together now…

It can get a little crazy when everyone finally comes together.  So it’s important to remember that these images are the ones that get posted for birthdays and parties… in other words, bring your A game!  As a member of the bridal party this is one of your last photographic obligations- besides bustin’ a move on the dance floor!

We’ll take a few editorial, or more serious shots…and then we’ll have a little fun!

The first tip is SO crucial!!! I have to warn all of the girls about this, especially if they are wearing satin! Great tips!

This is the toughest one for a lot of photographers, myself included. You’re right through and through, just keep it simple!
