Wedding Day | First Look

Today we’re continuing our tour of a wedding day.  We’ve already stopped to look at the first few hours of detail images and bridal preparation photos.  Next up, if you’ve decided on a First Look, then it’s time to see your man!

Have I mentioned before that First Looks are my FAVORITE?!  Ah, the images you get and the experience you have!!  There just is something so tender about pausing to BE in the moment when you first see each other. Tears, laughter, prayer, all of that very raw, very real emotion shows up in your portraits and it is SO beautiful.  Zach and I are so glad that we did a First Look when we got married.  Not only do we have beautiful images but the time together is my strongest memory from our day four and a half years ago! We took a moment to pause, take a deep breath together, and affirm our love for one another; away from the crowds of loved ones and hustle and bustle of the day.  It gave us courage and joy to continue through the day.

So it’s time!  I will set you up in a location with good lighting because my assistant and I will want to capture both of your reactions!  We will get set up to snap away and then ask you to walk towards your Groom and tap him on the shoulder.  He will turn around and we’ll give you a few moments together (so you can twirl in your dress a few times!) and then we’ll step in and start directing for a few couples portraits.  My best advice?  Relax and enjoy this time!  Cuddle, laugh, hug, and tuck away these memories of being so in love and together on this day!  Often this is the only time you have just as a couple on your wedding day.  The rest of the time will be filled with a flutter of activity and loved ones and you want it that way but THESE 60 minutes are just for you!
