Wedding Day | Ceremony

It’s time to get married!!  You’re all ready, your details have been documented, and it’s time to marry the love of your life!  Here are a few tips:

1.  Go unplugged!  I can not stress enough how helpful this is- for everyone!  You’ve chosen to invest in high quality images and a photographer who “gets” you.  Trust your photographer to capture the important moments and invite your guests to simply BE in the moment by putting away their smart phones/cameras.  Have your officiant request this from up front or put a little line about it at the bottom of your program.  This enables your guests to relax and give you their full attention, it ensures that when you walk down the aisle you see faces smiling AT you instead of through a lens, and it allows your photographer to have full access to any angle that might be needed.  Unplugged weddings are a gift to everyone involved.

2.  Know how long your ceremony will last.  This is important from a photography perspective because if that 15 minutes you guessed turns out to actually be just 4 minutes, then your photographers might not be positioned at the appropriate angles to capture everything well.  We do a lot of (quiet) walking during your ceremony and will judge where to be by the timing you’ve approximated.

3.  We can accommodate any church rules or preferences but in general I like to start out (unobtrusively) up front so that I can capture angles like this one.  I promise I won’t stay there the whole time so tell Mom (and your officiant) there is no need to worry!

4.  Take deep breaths, don’t lock your knees when you’re standing still, and SMILE!!  You’re marrying your best friend!!
