It’s so unreal to me that we got to go back to our favorite Italian playground- the Tuscan region. From Michelangelo’s “David” and the works of the Uffizi Gallery in Florence to the rolling hills and olive trees of Chianti, we were mesmerized the entire time!
I wasn’t expecting to like Florence too much but it completely surprised me! In some ways it reminded me of Richmond- an active city but small enough to be completely manageable. We quickly knew our way around the city and most importantly, how to get back to the best gelato places! We got to enjoy the perfect mix of art, culture, food and gardens- ending our time with an anniversary session for the sweetest couple in the Boboli Gardens, the former Medici estate.
Our time in Chianti was the “relaxing” half. We toured around in an incredible Cinquecento (vintage Fiat), took a cooking class, and sat in the sun. We got all dolled up and met the FABULOUS Abby Grace for our maternity anniversary session and I know I’m biased but I kind of think they’re the most epic maternity pictures EVER. Abby is just the best, so the combination of her work in Italy was absolute perfection! I had so much fun planning all the details and I’m SO glad the weather cooperated!
Also traveling while 7.5 months pregnant was not as crazy as I thought it would be! Mostly because of my awesome husband who carried bags for me and let me choose the comfiest (is that a word?) side of the bed. I’m so thankful that we got to have one last crazy adventure before this little one arrives!
That last image is absolutely stunning!! Love these, Linds! Also you and Zach are the cutest!! Xo!!
