Today Zach and I get to be the same age for the next 47 days!  This was important to me back in the day and he knew it when he proposed- exactly one hour before midnight on my birthday 5 years ago (so thoughtful!).  I was always the sassy one who dated older men- so the age barrier (one year! I know, I know, I was such a brat!) kept me from truly seeing Zach for awhile during our friendship in college.  But can I tell you something?  Age has no correlation with character.

Zach’s integrity of character was the very first thing that stirred my heart for him and it continues to be so to this day.  He is thoughtful, kind, and honest.  I have so much to learn from his servant nature.  I mean he really desires to serve.  He sleeps on the crappy side of the bed at hotels- you know, that one side that EVERYONE has slept on so it’s lumpy and sinky and uncomfortable and HE CHOOSES IT because he knows how important sleep is to me.  He gets up first EVERY MORNING so that he can wake me up with a cup of fresh coffee.  He does the dishes and fills my car with gas.

And it’s not just like this with me.  It has been an incredible joy for me to watch him build his real estate business.  He loves his clients and serves them with such specific attention.  He is generous with them- always thinking about the perfect gift to celebrate their new home.

I am so honored to get to do life, hand in hand, with this man.  Happy Birthday Zach!
