Photography Assistantship

The 2014 Wedding season is about to be in FULL swing y’all!  It was so much fun to kick it off with January’s wedding and then have a little bit of a break but get ready because it’s about to ramp up!!  I’m so excited for all of my incredible couples this year and can’t wait to show them off to you!

One of the ways that I best serve my clients is through bringing a trained photography assistant to each wedding.  Assistants build value into a wedding photography experience because they free me, as the primary photographer, to focus on the moments that matter.

An assistantship is also a fantastic way to grow!  I was so blessed to land an assistantship with an incredible photographer during my first season of business and it was such a joy not only to learn from her but to serve alongside her!

Last year I had the pleasure of working with two amazing assistants, Chelsea and Jess!  They were committed, dedicated and such joyful servants!  You know you have good assistants when your clients remember their names and tell you to thank them for their hard work!  (Thanks you two!!)  Zach assists me when he can (and does a phenomenal job!) but, sorry honey, you’re just not as pretty as these two:

I am now in the process of looking for an assistant (or two!) for my 2014 season!  You don’t have to be a MASTER photographer in order to qualify; I am definitely willing to train the right person!  This will be a paid position based on your level of experience/equipment.  Here are a few qualifications I am looking for:

  • Willing and able to commit to wedding dates several months in advance.  This is a big one!  I need to know that you will be faithful to show up and not just cancel because a cooler thing came up (and really, what is cooler than photographing the best day of someone’s life?!)
  • Willing and able to travel (how far will of course depend on where you are located in proximity to the wedding!)- you will know locations in advance!
  • Comfortable shooting on your own.  You must have a basic understanding of manual shooting and how to operate the equipment that you own!

Sound like you?!  Great!!  Let me know!  Send me an email (LindsayFauver@gmail.com) introducing yourself (please include a link to your most recent work!) and answering the following questions and we’ll go from there!

  • What kind of experience do you have with photography?  (be  honest!!  I want to know how I can serve YOU in this process as well!)
  • What kind of equipment do you own?
  • Why do you want to be an assistant?
  • How good are you with social media?
  • Tell me your three favorite things in world.

Yaay!  I can’t wait to meet you!

Update 4/2/14- with over 60 applicants I am no longer accepting applications.  Thank you!!
