Florals and perfume were certainly a beautiful part of the day but the core theme could be described as “Jesus at the Center.” LeLe and Greg were most excited to publicly declare their union and celebrate with the family and friends they hold in such high regard. Their fathers were honored to participate in the ceremony through each praying a prayer of blessing over the couple. Close friends read scripture, led the attendees in worship, and served communion. The community focused on the joy of the Gospel displayed in Greg & LeLe’s marriage was a beautiful thing to behold.
As he gave them homily, Derek said, “Today you are saying to all of us that the God of Scripture makes promises to His people and keeps them, that God longs to be in intimate relationship with us. And as we dance and celebrate, we proclaim the greater feast that is to come: the supper of the Lamb.”
Again, this was reflected in the toasts given by Katie and Jesse, Maid of Honor and Best Man. Greg and LeLe, by their very lives and work, are choosing to put the glory of God on display. The significance of this day for this couple was a joy to witness.
The happy couple said their vows on a plot of land belonging to LeLe’s paternal family. They ate popsicles and danced with their friends, stopping only for group photos with the many communities they have been a part of over the years. From start to finish each moment was full of intention and joy.
Greg and LeLe, it was truly an honor to get to celebrate alongside you. Congratulations and warmest prayers as you begin your new adventure together in Boston!
