This is one wedding where my words may fail me. A majority of the guests and I were moved to the point of tears several times on Kylie and Jonny’s day. Every detail of the day was infused with meaning and intended to delight. Guests were surprised at several points: the recording of Kylie’s sweet words to her dad, and his to her, as they walked down the aisle, the choreographed dance that followed their traditional first dance, even the Nightingale ice cream sandwiches- Richmond’s best- as favors at the end of the night.
Kylie and Jonny wanted to honor the Lord, enjoy their family and each other, and dance. And they accomplished it all! Each turn of the day was designed to worship God’s goodness in the fullness of their joy. One guest even left cocktail hour to pray for a minute, thanking the Lord she was able to be a part of this wedding day. Kylie told her, “I want you to have the BEST time, okay?” She’s selfless like that, joyful and generous like that, fun-loving and sure like that, and her wedding was the culmination of all of her best qualities.
Jonny leads with gracious confidence. His kind-hearted nature instantly puts you at ease. I’ve been struck by his thoughtfulness on several occasions but the best was his surprise for Kylie- spending their wedding night at the Jefferson!
I can not accurately describe to you the beauty and authenticity of this wedding day, this marriage. It was a highlight of my career to be entrusted to capture these memories. These are some of my all time favorite images, not only because Hollyfield Manor is gorgeous, King William Florist crushed it, and Kylie has naturally impeccable taste, but because each component of this day celebrates the love of this incredible couple.
Kylie and Jonny, I absolutely adore you two. What an honor it has been to serve you, what a joy to know you. You make an awesome team and I can’t wait to watch what the Lord has in store for you!
