From Richmond’s best: Hollyfield Manor, and The Jefferson Hotel, to Charleston and Seabrook Island, to the Homestead, to the Army Navy Country Club and two incredible wineries, Trump and Stone Tower, this year of weddings & portraits was one for the books. As a professional that has been in the industry for over 8 years, I am continually in awe of the gift it is to do this work; to enter into the celebration and significance and meaning of the most beautiful beginnings. As an artist, I am always delighted with the opportunity to perfect my craft and just so pleased with the work I was able to create this year.
I’m proud of it all but in particular there were some very challenging situations this year that ultimately blend seamlessly into my brand and style, so some of these images are favorites because I know exactly how much work it took to create them. Some of these images I love because I love the people. I love their story, their heart behind the beauty, and the joy that their day held. And some of them are just plain stunning, due to the composition, light, details and probably my 85mm (as Eliza would say, “we LOVE the 85!).
This is it y’all! The best of the best. The highlights of my year. What a JOY it was to serve these people in this way. I will never get over the privilege it is to enter into a story, to craft, compose, and capture it to be celebrated forever. Generations to come will know these images and treasure them. What a high honor!
P.s. a HUGE thank you to my sweet friend, Heidi, who worked so hard to help me create this visual story!
